Inflammation

Chemokines are key molecular players in the inflammation process. Inflammatory responses in specific diseases are characterized by triggering of different chemokines and or/cell types to the place of inflammation.

The Diakines® Programme

The Diakines® programme at Biotherapix is focused on the development of novel engineered proteins with improved characteristics which target chemokine receptors. Btx501 and Btx502 are ideally suited for modulating processes and treating diseases involving chemokine receptors.

Diakines® are fusion of proteins consisting of:

A chemokine (Q) moiety or chemokine variant A polypeptide with a stabilising domain that can be optionally modified

Diakines® have the capability to bind specifically to chemokine receptors and inhibit the in vitro cell migration induced by the presence of corresponding chemokines.
