The HIV antibodies programme
Biotherapix's HIV antibodies program has the objetive of developing human neutralizing antibodies for passive immunization therapy and/or prophylactic uses against HIV infection.
Efforts are focused on blocking HIV infection cycle at the fusion stage between the viral particle and the target cell

Biotherapix's main molecular targets for treatment are the envelope viral proteins (gp120) and the cell co-receptors (chemokine receptors) which are key players in this process.
Biotherapix is developing three fully human HIV neutralizing antibodies (Btx401, Btx402 and Btx403) against a conserved epitope, which have been characterised in vitro. These molecules have shown ability to neutralize HIV-1 both in vitro and in preliminary in vivo animal models. Biotherapix also develops a HIV vaccine (Btx301) to prevent HIV infection.
